How to Book Yumana Liveaboard: Steps, Payment & What Happens Next

Booking Yumana Liveaboard takes four steps: message us with your dates and headcount, we hold the cabin while you confirm, you pay the deposit and receive written confirmation, then we send the pre-departure pack with your meeting point and boarding time. Bookings are handled directly by the Komodo Luxury reservations team on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875 or by email at [email protected]. No account, no online checkout, no third-party agent between you and the operator.
We book by conversation rather than by shopping cart, and that is deliberate. Komodo has real variables — minimum manifests, cabin minimums, dive certifications, park fees that shift, weather windows — and a checkout button hides all of them until you are already committed. Ten minutes of messages gets you a booking that reflects what will actually happen.
The four steps
| Step | What you do | What we do | Typical timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Enquire | Send dates, number of guests, trip length and preferred cabin | Check the live manifest and reply with real availability and a quote | Same day in most cases |
| 2. Hold | Confirm you want the cabin while you sort flights | Place a short courtesy hold on that cabin | A short window, agreed with you |
| 3. Confirm | Pay the deposit and send guest details | Issue written booking confirmation with all terms | Immediately on cleared payment |
| 4. Prepare | Read the pack, book flights around it | Send the pre-departure pack and stay reachable until you board | Ahead of departure, updated near the date |
What we need from you
- Full names exactly as printed in each passport — these go on the manifest and park documentation, and a mismatch causes problems at the ranger station.
- Nationality and passport number for park registration.
- Inbound and outbound flight times so we can confirm your boarding and disembarkation work.
- Dietary requirements and allergies for every guest — provisioning happens ashore in Labuan Bajo, so late notice cannot always be fixed.
- Dive certification level and last dive date if you are diving, plus your card and logbook on board.
- Medical conditions relevant at sea — asthma, heart conditions, pregnancy, mobility limits, severe seasickness.
- An emergency contact who is not travelling with you.
- Travel insurance details. We strongly recommend cover that includes marine activities.
Payment, deposit and currency
Invoicing is in Indonesian rupiah, which is the billed currency for all published rates. Bookings are held against a deposit with the balance settled before departure. The exact deposit amount, accepted payment methods, payment deadlines, reschedule window and cancellation terms are confirmed in writing for your specific booking, because they differ between a single cabin on a shared departure and a full-boat charter. Ask, and you will have them in writing before you transfer anything — do not send money against a figure that has not been confirmed to you in a document.
Our guests come largely from Europe, Southeast Asia and Australia, so international transfers and non-rupiah payment are routine. Confirm the method with the reservations team first rather than assuming. Published cabin rates and every cost that sits outside them are on the Yumana Liveaboard price list.
Your pre-departure pack
| What it contains | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Meeting point at Labuan Bajo harbour and boarding time | Boarding is time-critical; the vessel sails on schedule |
| Transfer arrangements from airport or hotel | So nobody is standing at Komodo Airport wondering who to call |
| Confirmed cabin allocation | You know which room and which deck before you arrive |
| Packing list | Soft bag, reef-safe sunscreen, trainers for Padar and the dragon walks, rash guard, dry bag, medication, power bank |
| Park and government fee handling | What is collected, where, and in what form — confirmed for your travel month |
| Route outline and briefing schedule | Set out in full on the day-by-day itinerary |
| On-board contact numbers | For delays, changes and anything that goes wrong on travel day |
Changes, cancellations and weather
Reschedules are handled subject to availability and to the terms in your confirmation, and they are always easier the earlier you raise them. If you need to cancel, the applicable terms are the ones written into your booking — we do not apply conditions you were not shown.
Weather is its own category. Komodo conditions typically close specific anchorages rather than entire itineraries, so the normal response is a reordered route decided by the captain, communicated to you at the evening briefing with the reason. Full weather cancellations are rare and are handled case by case. Final authority on route and safety rests with the captain, which is how it should be on any vessel at sea.
Book with us
Yumana Liveaboard is operated by Komodo Luxury, part of Juara Holding Group, sailing Komodo National Park out of Labuan Bajo since 2015. When you message the number below you reach the operator, not a marketplace.
- WhatsApp: +62 811 3823 875 — fastest route to live availability
- Email: [email protected] — best for group briefs and written quotes
Before you message, it helps to have skimmed the departure schedule and availability page so you know how far ahead your month needs booking, and the cabin comparison so you can name a category. If this vessel is full on your dates, the reservations team at our parent company can check the rest of the fleet.
Frequently asked questions
Can I book online with a card?
There is no self-service checkout. Bookings run through the reservations team so that availability, cabin minimums, dive requirements and park fees are all confirmed before you pay rather than after. Payment itself is arranged once your booking is agreed.
How much deposit is required?
It is confirmed in writing for your specific booking, because it differs between a single cabin and a full-boat charter and between seasons. Ask at enquiry stage — you will have the figure and the schedule before you commit.
What is the cancellation policy?
The terms in your written booking confirmation are the ones that apply. We will not publish a blanket policy here that would be wrong for half our bookings. Request the terms before paying the deposit; any operator who will not send them in writing is telling you something.
How far in advance should I book?
Several months for July to September, four to eight weeks for the shoulder months, and often much less between December and March. Whole-boat charters need more lead time than single cabins in every month.
Do I pay park fees to you or at the park?
Park and government fees sit outside the cabin rate. Collection arrangements vary by month and route — some routes are ticketed as a bundle — so the current handling for your dates is confirmed in the pre-departure pack. Allow from IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day and confirm the exact figure with us before departure.
What happens if my flight is delayed on boarding day?
Message us immediately on WhatsApp. Short delays can sometimes be absorbed; long ones cannot, because the rest of the manifest is on a fixed schedule. This is why we recommend arriving in Labuan Bajo the night before, especially for the shorter 2D1N cruise where there is no slack.
Can you arrange flights and hotels as well?
We can advise on flight timing and arrange transfers, and we can point you to Labuan Bajo hotels for a pre-departure night. Tell us what you need at enquiry stage.
Is a travel agent involved?
No. You book directly with the operator of this vessel. That is also why we can answer specific questions about this boat, its cabins and its crew rather than reading from a listing.
